Hey Simon, I don't know if this got sent to you, but I reposted this blog entry on my facebook, and this was my friend Nik's reply:
"With all of the news anchors that are very ignorant to the transgendered population, I have come across two, rather 'nice', representations of transgendered youth this week in the media. 20/20, last Friday ran a segment about 3 different trans children. Check it out online....

And I just ran across this on CNN.com: "A transgender candidate on prom king ballot". http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/20/transgender.prom.king.ap/index.html

Although there is a lot of negativity out there, these little victories allow us to feel a bit of optimism for the future."

Just thought it was a point worth remembering.
